initial consultation

Your initial consultation will be between 30-45 minutes. You will have a form to fill in, so plan to arrive 10 minutes early to do this.

The osteopath will ask for an in-depth medical history, and look at any relevant x-rays, CT scans, MRI reports, or blood test results.

The osteopath will begin with a structural examination followed by appropriate osteopathic treatment. They will explain what is going to happen during the treatment. If at any time you are unsure of what is happening or you do not feel comfortable with what is happening, please let the osteopath know.

To get the best value out of your treatment we encourage you to be on time as all of our osteopaths endeavour to run on time.

Please wear comfortable loose clothing, this is for your comfort as well as making it easier for the osteopath to move your body as necessary. Our osteopaths may ask you to remove 1 layer of clothing if they deem it necessary, so please dress appropriately. Osteopathy is a hands-on therapy so please be prepared to be touched.

We recommend after treatments that you drink plenty of water, and have an easier day exercise wise. This allows the body time to recover and process the changes made. Sometimes after a treatment you can experience increased tiredness, stiffness or an irritation of the problem you came in with. These are all normal reactions but if they do not resolve in 24-36 hours or you are concerned then please contact the osteopath for further advice.
